Certification as a Human Resources professional is becoming an integral step to building a successful career.  Brandman University recognizes that you have choices when it comes to your certification and offers several courses with  curriculum that is aligned with the body of knowledge recognized by  the Human Resource Certification Institute (PHR/SPHR) or Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP /SHRM-SCP)) The programming noted below can be used for certification exam preparation.  These courses are also good overviews for all entry level and more senior staff in human resources who need professional development or certification focused on the topic areas that comprise the focus of their daily work. A certificate of completion is provided following successful completion of each program.

PHR/SPHR Exam Prep

HRCU 0001 PHR SPHR Exam Prep

Prepare for the exam necessary to distinguish yourself in your HR career and join the ranks of 120,000 certified HR professionals. Utilizing the SHRM Learning System offers a comprehensive bank of test questions, practice tests, interactive case studies and much more, knowledgeable and certified faculty take you step by step through extensive material to prepare you for the bi-annual Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification exams. Recertification credits also available. 3.3 credits.

Global Professional in Human Resources Exam Prep 

HRCU 0045 Global Professional in Human Resources Exam Prep

The Global Professional in Human Resources Certificate enables you to pursue careers in a variety of organizational settings and markets/industries. If you are a mid- or high-level practitioner, the Global Human Resources Certificate will enable you to become a key player in the international human resources field while accelerating your career progression. If you are in the early stages of your human resources career, the knowledge and competencies gained from this certificate program will allow you to assume a more responsible role involved with the global business environment. 3 credits.

Recertification: Current PHRs and SPHRs may earn up to 3.0 CEUs or 30 Recertification Credit Hours (RCHs) for successfully completing this Global Learning System course.

HRCU 0047 SHRM CP & SCP Exam Prep

This course will prepare students for SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). Earning the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential shows that a person has mastered the SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge and has remained current on Human Resource. SHRM CP and SCP certificates elevate the status of the HR profession. A highly valued certification gives a distinct advantage in the job market. 3.6 credits.

This course is for the professional who already holds the PHR or SPHR designation and seeks to demonstrate knowledge of Californias unique employment laws. Using the SHRM California Learning System, the student will prepare to challenge this new certification exam. 1.5 credits.

Essentials of HR Management

HRCU 0034 Essentials of HR Management

Designed as a thorough introduction to HR basics, this SHRM course provides a solid foundation in HR understanding improving job performance across multiple job titles and functions. Appropriate for entry level HR staff, small business owners and office managers, managers and front line supervisors, and others working with teams and direct reports. Reduce the risk of potential high-cost litigation and promote a consistent understanding of the HR function within non-HR management. This course can be customized for business interested in incorporating their best practices, policies and procedures. 2.4 credits.
