Transitional Kindergarten Certificate
This certificate meets the requirements credentialed teachers need to qualify to teach transitional kindergarten and apply to CTC for a Child Development Master Teacher Level Permit. Each course awards 3 academic credits (undergraduate). A grade of “C” or higher must be earned in each course in this program. Students successfully completing this certificate and who hold an appropriate, valid CTC designated credential, such as a multiple subject credential, will receive the Transitional Kindergarten Certificate.
Students seeking a certificate only are not eligible for financial aid. Courses taken after completion of a degree program in order to complete the certificate are not eligible for financial aid.
- Eligible candidates are those with an appropriate, valid CTC designated credential. - Applicants must complete and submit the Brandman University Application.

ECED 302 Social and Emotional Competence in Early Childhood Education must be taken first. Subsequent courses may be taken in any order with the exception of ECED 210 Practicum in Early Childhood Education I which will be the final course in the program.
Prerequisites noted in course descriptions are not applicable to students in this certificate program.
Students may substitute a CAP 8 aligned practicum for ECED 210 Practicum in Early Childhood Education I. No other transfer credits are accepted toward completion of this certificate.
